The FASTER (Foot and Ankle STabilization and
Edema Reduction) ankle brace is perfect to protect your ankles and speed
recovery after an ankle injury or surgery. The FASTER is compressive to
reduce swelling and includes medial and lateral plastic stays to help
maintain proper positioning of the ankle.

Application Instructions for
the FASTER Ankle
Brace
1. Pull the sleeve on like a sock, making
sure your heel fits securely into the heel pocket. Figure
1
2. Pull the wrap directly across the front
of the ankle and secure it to the Velcro®
on the left front of the sleeve. Figure 2
3. Pull the wrap all the way around the back
of your ankle to the front of the sleeve and secure the end
of the strap to the outside of the strap. Figure 3
Trimming the FASTER Brace to
Length
The FASTER Brace is designed to be trimmed in
length if necessary. The basic landmarks to use are the MTP
joint (at the base of the big toe) and the 5th metatarsal head
(at the base of the little toe). Figure 4. If the brace
is not long enough to reach these two points, the brace will
still fit fine.
To trim the brace, apply the brace to the foot
with the collar wrapped and secured. The cut will typically
begin at the big toe and be angled toward the little toe. Then
taper the cut around the bottom of the foot to match the top cut
line. Figure 5.
NOTE: When the cut is made, be sure to leave
one blue stitch across each of the two seam lines to prevent
the seam from unraveling.

Attach the end opposite of the Bio Skin®
logo directly behind your ankle. The logo end of the strap will
extend to the outside of your ankle. Wrap the strap across the
top of the foot from outside to inside, then under your foot
back across to the outside of the ankle. Figure 6.
Stretch the strap back across to the top of your foot from
outside to inside then around the back of the ankle before
attaching the Velcro® in
front of your ankle to the outside of the strap. Figure 7.

Wash Bio Skin®
